I had a strange dream where my hair was alight with flames, but I just kept putting my hands over it to extinguish it without getting burnt, this happened continuously. Any ideas?x

Hi Elise,

I would imagine in general one's own hair going on fire would be interpreted as a threat. The fact that you are able to put it out unscathed means you keep landing on your feet. I would suspect something is going on in your life that is repetitive, you keep running into the same situation or very similar ones. You mention you keep having this dream, and extinguishing it without getting burned would mean you feel you always manage to rise above it or get through it unharmed or with little injury.

I wish to add to Angelique's comments above that the loss of hair by any means may be an expression of your very common fear of getting old or being unwanted.

To dream of that you are being burned by fire could either indicate that your temper is getting out of control or alternately that some current issue or situation is burning you up, or really getting to you.

The simple fact that you can almost consistently and repeatedly extinguish the flames without getting burnt would I feel be regarded as a particularly good omen that, whatever this burning issue was, it is now relatively under your control.

Putting out the flames in your hair could be interpreted as meaning that you are by so doing symbolically minimising the potential for destruction (damage and chaos) that this issue could have otherwise wreaked upon your life, if you had not so rapidly and effectively cut it off at it's source?
