Many years ago, I awakened from a dream, I felt my leg being grabbed and dragged off of the bed. Even after I awakened I felt the grip for a few seconds and even longer felt a temperature change to the ankle area. WHen I awakened I seen a swirling in front of my eyes. A deep voice said "If not now then later"  My 2 year old daughter awakened a couple minutes later crying as well. I will admit I left my bedroom that night and slept on the couch, it was that chilling of a dream. Any ideas of what happened?

I believe that you were the unwilling victim of an attack of what is often called SLEEP PARALYSIS.

The deep voice and feeling that your leg was being grabbed and dragged off the bed are amongst one of many different types of hallucinations which you may encounter (fortunately not all at the same time) during this altered state of consciousness, part way between dreaming and being fully awake.

That symptom of feeling as though you were being gripped or temporarily unable to move is the most common symptom of all (hence the name). I do not in your case believe that anything of a mediumistic nature was going on that morning, although this does not necessarily mean that I do not believe you have such abilities.

The really good news is that there are still no documented cases of anyone ever having suffered permanent damage as a result of having gone through this admittedly frightening experience. You and your daughter were at no time in any danger either of a physical kind, or on the other hand of a more spiritual nature (possession etc).

Sweet dreams,

I had a dream one time when I was younger where I was being choked.  It was a very frightening dream and it seemed very real. All I can remember was that while I was being choked, I kept thinking of a friend of mine who I was very close to and who was in law enforcement who always had a positive affect on my life. I remember thinking of him and something that he told me which made me not be afraid of this person in the dream and I kept concentrating on my friend and what he had told me and I just kept thinking about it and all of a sudden I woke up as if the person choking me was being lead away by my friend. Or it could have been my thoughts about this person made him retreat and leave me alone. I don't know but I was happy to have had those memories of my good friend at the time.  And whenever I'm in danger, I will just simply think of something positive that my friend had told me and usually I'll be fine...and when things really get tough for me...I simply have to remember that..............God's Got It!!!!!!!
