So this has been occuring since i was around 16.  I often have very realistic dreams that seem very bizarre when the occur when i'm sleeping. But then they actually happen within as little as the next day or up to 4 months.   Most the time i'll remember the dream as the event is taking place... like i'm a split second behind finishing other peoples words...    if i were you reading this, i'd think that its a pretty unrealistic thing to be happening.  But i'm just seeing if anyone else can relate or maybe if anyone else has any other information... also, is there any way to encourage recalling these dreams more clearly...?   Thanks.

Some speculate this is a glitch in the brain, where the brain is a little behind (give or take a second) because it's trying to process the information it has just seen and experienced. Giving the sensation of Deja vu.

Others believe they have indeed dreamed what has happened and are recalling it as something in reality occurs and sets the mind of to recall the dream at that moment. Again, giving the sensation of Deja vu.

Then there are those who believe they have been shown their entire life prior to being born into it, so when situations arise that seem familiar it triggers the memory; again giving the sensation of Deja vu.

Obviously the theme here is you are experiencing what they call Deja vu, which is the perception of having previously experienced something actually being encountered for the first time.  I've experienced it a quite a few times where something is going on and all of a sudden I realize, I've done this before, I know what is going to be said next or what is to happen next and it does. Plenty of people experience it. Which category it falls under is a mystery. I have yet to hone the ability to recall these dreams prior to recalling them as the situation evolves and unfolds. I think it is possible but I look at it like how can you look for something if you aren't even aware of it's presence? It's like me coming to your home in the middle of the night while you sleep and adding an extra blade of grass to a dirt patch on your lawn.. it isn't something you're going to notice unless pointed out to you.  So if you aren't aware of something, how are you to know you need to look for it?

Your best bet is to keep a dream journal next to your bed and when you wake up in the morning, the first thing you do while the brain is still fresh with the memories of the dreams you just had, write them down. I say this because if you decide to write them down later, some people tend to forget important details. By doing this you are training your mind to remember them and it may help you.

hi !!
IŽve been having dreams coming true for several years,,, my case is a little different from yours,, I can remember clear many dreams of mine, obviously there are many of them that i canŽt . If i donŽt have a clear pic of them, i just forget them.
The best way to remember them is like angelique said, write them down,,
I just make an effort every morning to remember them, just opening your eyes, try to remember them. donŽt wait later or theyŽll be vanished.
If you get this, youŽll be able to know what is going on.

This happened to me yesterday, I'm writing here now because I searched on Google.

It's only happained twice I can remember, like you I remember the dream the secound it starts happening.
Both times it was something really insignificant.

edit, after reading the post on Deja Vu, I also get that feeling often, but these times I'm sure it was a dream!

I am glad that other people have experienced this. I have tried to explain it before. It is diffrent from Deja Vu, it is way too clear. Insted of feeling that you think this might have happend before, it is like wow, I remember this. I sometimes feel nervous if I don't experience it often. Sometimes it is like I have lived my life before and I am remembering what happened the first time. I find that I have to look past the dream symbolism into the essence of the situation, but it is exacly what I drempt and can even remember the dream and how it occured at the time. I find also that when I have moved into a new place, I remember dreaming about it months, even years ago.
