My boyfriend and I broke up a while back due to his lack of personal fulfillment in his own life.  (The whole "I don't know what I want, I'm not who I need to be right now" kind of thing-- I know this is not just an excuse, everyone who knows him knows he's struggling with it.)  Anyway, or the past many, many weeks I've dreamed of him, that we'd get back together, that things would turn out ok someday for us.  

Finally we broke off communication completely (no emails, phone calls, etc.) so he could concentrate solely on whatever it is he needs to work on, and since then I've had dreams (every night I dream of him without fail) that he is frustrated, sometimes angry, sometimes sad--never really happy.  His presence is ALWAYS in my dreams, even when he isn't a key player-- I know he's there, hovering in the background or over me.  In some the dreams we do communicate through email or im or even face to face, but even though we end up talking and he feels a little better, I still feel his unhappiness.

I always look to my dreams for what's going on, going to happen, and almost always I'm right on the money.  I guess because we're NOT communicating right now I'm worried that my subconscious is making more of a situation than is there, but it never has before.  Even when I wanted something badly, my dreams were honest and would let me know if my conscious mind was wrong.  Does this make sense?  Do you think there is something of truth in these dreams, or is it something else?

Dreams will many times display what you are feeling very strongly about, though either won't admit to it, are hiding, or what is really important to you.  Obviously your ex holds great importance to you, so I fully understand why you'd dream about him.

I believe that in your dreams you're doing what you wish you could do, to talk his problems out with him, to reach out to him in ways that you normally couldn't because of the lack of communication.  Though, right now he needs the time to regroup and refocus his life.  Hopefully soon he'll be ready to talk again, and when that time comes, you can be the one to help him unload his frustration.
