How do you distinguish between when your dream is just a dream full of symbolic meanings or if it is soul travelling astralling visiting friend or deased relatives in another dimension.??

I often have reoccering dreams of the same people from my past, sometimes they seem like we have met up in a different place to see each other again? I try to find the symbolic meaning , or if it is a feeling I am trying to release or work though, but more often than not it doesn't fit into that catagory. and i know they are not prophecic dreams as these place rarely resemble anything in this realm.

Is it possible that my soul still has connections with these people and we somehow find a way to visit each other in the dream world? (I haven't spoke to these people in over 10 years so it's not like I'm going to call them ask if they are dreaming of me!!)

The short answer to your question is that it is often particularly difficult to separate the two, especially if this dream/experience does not happen very often again if at all after the first time (but your's did).

It is also quite possible to be astrally travelling, and for your dreams to be filled with unconscious symbolism at the very same time.

My response to johnboy1981 in this same forum may be of some interest to you in deciding which of the two was the more likely in your dreams (astral travelling, or merely dreams rich with symbolism which can often be interpreted).

By the way, astral travelling and Out Of Body Experiences are not always quite the same thing.

Travelling on the astral planes normally means that you are visiting dimensions (mostly non physical ones) other than the physical one in which you currently exist, whereas OOBEs can also occur in the more familiar surroundings of our physical Universe (although sometimes within a different time period).

All experiences of astral travelling are therefore by definition also OOBEs, but NOT all OOBEs involve travelling to other predominantly non physical dimensions?

Thank-you for your insight. i have had very vivid dreams most of my life and easily recall most dreams, I suppose the best way for me to decipher them is to keep a dream journal and a regular jornal of what is going on in my life and see if I can make the connection that way.
