I very rarely remember my dreams, and the ones that I do remember pften seem prophetic.
This weekend I had a VERY vivid dream of my own death.
Is this something that happens often?
Is the fact that it was so specific significant?
I'm scared and not sure what to think (I also posted about this on the psychic thread)
Any insight would be really appreciated.

It is theoretically possible to have premonitions of your own death within a dream, but I can almost assure you with a nearly 100% probability that this dream had absolutely nothing to do with your own physical death.

If you think about it for the moment, what would be the purpose of dreaming about the time, place and way that you were about to leave this mortal coil, unless you could prevent it, or at least delay it from happening?

If you know anything about Tarot cards you will probably already be familiar with the card called DEATH. Although I suppose that if I were giving a person who is either in his or her 90s or is terminally ill a reading and the death card came up, it could possibly mean in their case that their allotted time on Earth was nearly over.

In most other situations I would interpret both the DEATH card and your dream to mean that you are currently or are about to experience a period of significant change in your life which will necessarily involve you leaving behind what is no longer of use to you, or worse is preventing you from being able to move forward.

In other words, you may need to "DIE" to your older life, so that you can subsequently be reborn or resurected into a much more positive phase of your spiritual path, from now on.

Right on, EOT! ;) Death usually symbolizes "out with the old, in with the new." With death follows birth, or in your case most likely rebirth or a need for it. The passing of an old phase and new beginnings or patterns.

Have people died in their dreams and experienced it? Of course. I've died countless times and they are usually vivid dreams, more so when I was a child and not often as an adult (though I am a kid for life!), and yet some believe if you dream you died you actually do at that very moment - heart attack brought on by fear. Hasn't happened to me yet, I'm still kicking ::grins:: So are you. Don't worry about it, it was just a dream and the symbolism meant death of similar nature I described above, certainly not the end of your life.
