Before I start let me say: I have nothing against gays. I absolutely love them and have many gay friends, so hopefully none of this would offend, nor would I ever commit or promote a hate crime. That being said, I'll continue. I keep having a recurring dream that my husband tells me he is gay and that he wants a divorce. I have had this dream about 4 or 5 times. Three of those times within one week. We just got married about a month and a half ago (they started after we got married) and have been together a little over a year. We're madly in love and I'm quite positive that he is not gay (not in my waking life anyway.)

In each dream I react differently. One dream, I stabbed him. In another I beat the crap out of him. In another dream I screamed and screamed at him and eventually had a psychotic break down which resulted in me being institutionalized.

I experience massive amounts of emotional pain and energy drainage in these dreams and shortly after waking. Any thoughts?

It is not unusual to have uncomfortable thoughts in the early days of marriage. It may be that since you have had some close gay friends, you really are concerned that he may be gay. There may well be nothing more complicated to it. Have you shared your dream with him. Some times worrying thoughts do come over a person in a new relationship. I have been married now for some 20 years and sharing is a good way of building trust in your relationship. Take care.

Sometimes it is a way of passing the blame and giving a reason for the divorce, rather than blaming yourself that perhaps your husband is not attracted to you, it is because he isn't attracted to any female but really prefers guys. So you can hold your head up and get sympathy, perhaps deep inside you have an insecurity that you think your husband might leave you because you do not feel attractive, and this dream is trying to explore that aspect of denial?

Oh, I'm a million percent positive that he wouldn't leave me because of that, even though you're on the money about me thinking that I myself am not attractive, he's totally enamored with me though. I'm a million percent positive that he wouldn't leave me which is why it's really weird that I keep having these dreams.  In the dreams I'm not hurt because he cheated or because I thought he preferred men. I was hurt because I would be without him. If that clears anything up.
