hi just wanted to say that I have had a dream several times in the past few months ( please dont laugh and fall off ur chairs). I been dreaming of female vampires who want to get very close with me thay start to take their clothes off and whisper that they want sex but just as they get undressed a passer by scares them off. can anyone tell me what this is all about. I would like to see the end of this dream!!!!!

While stories of vampires have frequently had an erotic element as these mythical creatures of the night apparently enjoy creeping into a virgin's bedroom and sinking their fangs into her milky white throat, vampires in dreams often mean that you are feeling physically or emotionally drained - as if your life force represented by your blood has been somehow drained out of you. The symbolism might in rare cases possibly go further, to mean that you could perhaps be suffering from some form of anaemia or a deficiency of some vital component of your blood such as iron or a specific vitamin.

If you are being hounded by vampires then you could be the victim of a particularly obsessive and very unhealthy relationship. If you are the vampire, then you are the person who is taking unfair advantage of someone else and are by doing so leaving them exhausted and more vulnerable to your own selfish behaviour.

The erotic content of these dreams could either be seen as a harmless sexual fantasy of you having a mysterious night time lover whom you can keep to yourself, or it could possibly be related in some way to the Western medieval legend of an INCUBUS - a demon in male form supposed to lie upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them. They are also believed to do this in order to spawn other incubi. The incubus drains energy from the woman on whom it performs sexual intercourse in order to sustain itself. Blood is often used to represent our life force or vital energy in dreams.

The female equivalent of a demon who similarly preys upon men in order to drain their life energy is called a SUCCUBUS.

I have yet to understand how male vampires are supposed to be able to have intercourse considering they have no blood source of their own. (Think *hard* and you'll see my point.) *Cough.*
