my first psychic dream was when i was around 14. i had a dream that it was a freezing cold night and i was scaring the gineapigs by chasing them round the garden until they collaped and died. the next morning i said to my mum that the gineapigs were dead. she opened the hutches and they were still alive but that night we had 2 chase them round the garden to get them in as they would freeze to death as it was a cold night and it forcasted snow. in the end we gave up and had our dinner. we went back out and they were on the lawn, in the same postion in my dream, dead. i held one that was still alive but it died in my hands. this always happens to me when i have pets. i always have dreams of them dying and they do.

Unfortunately psychic premonitions of the future within our dreams are mostly negative ones, often involving some type of disaster or even in some rare cases physical death itself.

The main problem is to sort out what are genuine psychic dreams from the more common type which contain unconscious symbols which are then open to being interpreted using a general dream dictionary, aided of course by the person who is interpreting the dream's own intuition.

Your dream did accurately foretell the death of your guinea pigs, but in many dreams where you either see your own death or somebody else you know fairly well, DEATH is only a symbol representing someone about to enter or to be reborn into a completely new phase of their life, which will probably also mean that they must first "die" to their old outmoded ways of doing things.

How do you tell the difference between a true precognitive dream, and one which is merely rich with symbolism?

The short answer is with great difficulty.

Only by the regular use of a carefully dated dream journal or diary. in order to help you to better recognise the special feelings which often seem to be associated with those dreams which eventually did come true (which is why a dated dream journal is such a valuable development tool), that you do not feel with the other more common variety.

I've been keeping a dream journal for about 10yrs now, at one stage I stopped, as I could'nt see the point . Then when I continued I started experiencing things happening, not necessasarily exactly as the dream occured, but easily to interrupt.

Then a couple of dreams did occur----& this got stronger after my husband died, which was 5 years ago.

The latest dreams that occurred happened last year, Jan 2006, when in my dream I was with a man, & he asked to go on holidays with me,  in another dream not long after, I was with ( I think it was the same person) this man, & he had his arms around me, & we were on a balcony somewhere in Asia looking out onto a pool .

Well Jan 2007, I met a man, & in Feb, he asked if he could come with me on holidays to Asia.
Another dream from last year, or several concerned my car, I kept dreaming that either I lost my car, or I was caught in water either by the sea or a river-------this year my car was in an accident, & a write off, I had to buy a new one.
Well it'll be interesting about the holiday, as we are no longer to-gether, but did have a dream about him, where I was somewhere in some house & he was knocking on my window, & I went outside & we walked around talking-------Would love to understand it all.
