i saw that a man aged 50+ had a land which he couldnt sell and someone else was trying to steal it from him.
this old man had no money to fight for justice so i offered to settle this issue and get him paid something for his land

i went to the other guy and settled for 25 million (land was worth 40 million) to be paid to old man.
i blackmailed both parties and took 5 million as my fee for this settlement

You were willing to defend the rights of the old man in recovering what was due to him. If it had not been for you he would have had the entire 40 million dollars kept from him illegally, so 25 million (15 million less than what you believed his property was worth) was surely better than NOTHING.

Perhaps there is some element of moral teaching behind this dream in that after defending the older man's rights (which was noble and good of you) you might have then felt guilty for taking what you judged was a fair and reasonable fee for doing so. The old man did not seem to mind this, so why did you then feel so guilty and uncomfortable for taking 20%?

Could this possibly be saying that you have undervalued yourself and your services in the past, and that you now need to establish a more realistic fee to better reflect the qualifications and skills that lead to you being able to do this type of work? You could potentially be selling yourself short and worrying needlessly that you do not personally have a right to expect a fair price in return for the services you are offering, according to what the relevant award rates for this service are within your local area.

Does any of this seem either relevant to a current life situation of your's, or helpful in assisting you to better interpret the most likely meaning of this dream?

I just noticed that you had responded, and thank you for your feedback.

As long as you set a charge for your services which is fair and reasonable according to what the current going price is and you do your level best to ensure that the customer is satisfied, then I agree with you that they have no other option, other than perhaps going to someone else instead, but to pay your fee according to the terms of payment you discussed when they took you on.

If you on the other hand you charge too little for your services, then people will tend to agree with you that they are not worth paying anything more for than that. It is finding the proper balance between charging enough to accurately reflect the value you place upon your services, while not charging a fee above what the current economic climate can take?
