Washing anybody's feet is regarded as a sign of respect and above all humility. While you understandably experienced fear and loathing with Hitler in your kitchen, you were able to put this all aside for the moment and relieve his suffering.
Dreaming of the family home as it was when you lived under your parent's roof is thought to mean that you are seeking something from your past that you feel that you might have lost in the present (for example security and comfort). It is almost as though you are returning to the family "womb" in order to temporarily roll back the clock to an often less complex and relatively happier time in your life.
But you are then surprised to see that your bedroom and the family home have been renovated and there was an unknown woman lying there in your bed instead of you. The really significant thing that came out in your dream is that you preferred the original layout of your room to the renovations which had presumably been done in your absence.
Since a house in a dream is thought to represent the largely unconscious personality of the dreamer, with each room symbolising different aspects (bedrooms are a place to have dreams and to relax), renovating a home in a dream usually means that there is an urgent need for the dreamer to go deeper into him or herself, and to make whatever positive changes are required in order to move forwards once again in the present moment (their only true point of power).
We cannot go back to how our lives were when we were much younger, and while all change can be uncomfortable and perhaps even at times frightening, we will need to persevere with both compassion for ourselves and a degree of humility if we are going to overcome the resistance we quite naturally feel to getting our personalities (aka our dream home) back in relative order.
Most of our resistance to change stems from our own self doubts and fears that our new life will be even worse than the one we have now, or that when delving deeper into our unconscious mind we may in the process discover something terrible about ourselves that we would rather we did not need to confront. Significant positive change generally only comes about by taking whatever positive lessons you can from your earlier life experiences and in moving forwards with both courage and perseverance into an admittedly uncertain, but almost inevitably brighter future. The past is a nice place to visit now and then, BUT WE CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT TRY TO LIVE THERE ON A MORE PERMANENT BASIS?
Sweet dreams,
EOT
