HELLO:

I RE-CONNECTED WITH MY COUSIN BACK IN 2004 AFTER MANY OF YEARS WITH NO CONTACT. UPON RECONNECTING WITH HER, I BEGAN HAVING RE-CURRING DREAMS OF MY GRANDMOTHER IN A GARDEN. I DREAMPT THAT I WAS LIVING ON THIS BLOCK OF MANY SMALL COTTAGES AND I WAS IN THE BACKYARD / GARDEN OF MY HOUSE. MY GRANDMOTHER WAS STANDING IN MY BACKYARD AND SHE WAS LOOKING AT ME BUT SHE CAN NOT SPEAK (MY GRANDMOTHER DIED WHEN I WAS 9.5 YEARS OLD AND EVERY TIME I DREAM OF HER SHE DOESN'T SPEAK AND IN THE DREAMS I DON'T REMEMBER THAT SHE IS ACTUALLY DEAD) SHE POINTED TO MY LEFT AND THERE ABOUT 2 HOUSES DOWN WAS MY COUSIN'S DAD (MY FATHER'S BROTHER) AND HIS FAMILY (INCLUDING HIS EX-WIFE) STANDING AROUND AND ADMIRING THIS BEAUTIFUL, LARGE TREE IN THEIR LITTLE BACKYARD GARDEN. THEY DIDN'T SEE ME BUT I SAW THEM. ALL 3 OF MY UNCLE'S ADULT CHILDREN WERE THERE - INCLUDING MY COUSIN - MY GRANDMOTHER THEN POINTED TO MY BACKYARD GARDEN. IN MY GARDEN WERE ROWS OF TINY NEATLY PLANTED BABY PLANTS. I LOOKED AT MY GRANDMOTHER AND SHE POINTED BACK OVER TO MY COUSIN'S FAMILY AND SHOOK HER HEAD NO AND POINTED UPWARDS. AT THAT POINT I NOTICED THAT THE TREE ROSE UP (LIKE JACK IN THE BEANSTALK) TO INFINITY AND IT WAS TWISTED, KNARLED, BURNT, BASICALLY LOOKED TORTURED. UPON SEEING THE UPPER PART OF THE TREE I WOKE UP.
QUESTION: CAN ANYONE INTERPRET WHAT THIS MEANS?

The tree represents your family tree (I'll get back to this later).  Since your grandmother doesn't talk to you she probably left this earth with many things unsaid or that she could not shape her existence the way she wanted.  And the fact that she died when you were only nine, she probably was very influential to you even though you can't remember.  (Most psychologists proclaim that our personalities are developed by age 8).  You may take after her even though you don't know.

2 houses down and your father's family are looking at a tree very differently.  They do not notice you because they don't know how you are feeling on the inside.  You may be looking at things like your grandmother who is now on the other side.  The 3 baby plants that she points to and says no is probably because you have to continue down the path that your deceased grandmother has left, and you may not be the only one.  Your cousin who you reconnected with, has probably the same problem.  Have you had 3 things in life that did not go your way or something which you wish to happen that haven't grown and become the way you wanted?

Don't worry that the tree is gnarled, twisted and tortured.  That is probably an attitude your grandmother had, and you may be looking at things the same way.  

You don't have to look at things this way.  Notice this tree is beautiful 2 houses down.  Maybe these people who are seeing a beautiful tree can make you change your mind.  She also sounds scared that maybe they they don't understand your predicament.  They might not be the right people to talk to (for whatever reason I don't know) and maybe she wants you to talk to her about it.  I hope this makes sense.

Thank you Namaste for your insight - I have been wondering what this dream meant for the past few years. You are correct about me being very much like my grandmother. Many people in my family have said this, not only that I look very similar, but also that I act like her as well. She was a very down to earth and very grounded force in my family. When she passed away, the entire family split apart - she was the person that kept us all together. Over the years, I have tried to piece my family back together bit by bit, but they are a very stoic group of individuals. Very set in their ways, etc... so it has been rather difficult to accomplish this.

You are also correct in that my grandmother was not very fond of my cousin's mother (her daughter in law). In fact, she was extremely distant with regards to my aunt. The feeling was mutual between them. You are also correct about my cousin whom I have recently reconnected with. She has an enormous amount of personal problems, marital etc... I have been trying to help her overcome these problems over the past few years, but I have been very discouraged as of lately...

With regards to the 3 things in life that haven't gone my way, this may be the fact that I have always wanted 3 children. I have 1 son who I love with all my heart, but I would have liked to have had more children  - Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. I have always felt sad about this. I know I am still young enough to have more children, but for some reason or other it just has not happened to date and I think it may never happen (my son is already 9 going on 10)
