I was dressed in a floor length dress seems it was gray and white .. came up around my neck.  
I was in a room the floor was wooden i believe ...place seemed old ...

I had small children around me with big round dark eyes ... all looking up to me as if they are talking to me


I had this a few nights back ....... I was not scared but kept me awake after this ... It was a little before 3 am ..

The scene would indicate that you are in a situation of long standing, one in which your way of functioning or behaving is the main issue. (a floor length dress) This is a function or behaviour about which there are feelings of uncertainty (grey) as well as some feelings of innocence, which implies also some lack of knowledge. (white) Your way of functioning appears based upon a principle established by knowledge (wooden floor) and involves a point of view or mental attitude that has been around for some time. (in a room … place seemed old)

The children represent an innocent aspect of yourself – an aspect that is not living with an adult level of knowledge.  Using this innocent aspect of yourself you are making your long standing way of functioning the focus of your attention (small children around me) and probably giving it honour and respect. (all looking up to me) This innocent aspect of yourself appears to communicate with you; it may “speak to you”, i.e. it may strike a resonating chord in you or simply addresses your concerns.  (as if they are talking to me)

The big round eyes can simply imply seeing yourself with the wonder and awe that comes from great innocence and lack of knowledge. The fact that the children’s eyes are noted as being dark can also suggest that the understanding or the belief being used by this innocent aspect of yourself is not an enlightened understanding or belief, i.e. it does not reflect great intelligence. {While there is obviously nothing wrong with having an innocent aspect to one’s ego structure, the dream’s intent seems merely to bring to your awareness that where a certain long standing way of functioning is concerned, you are not bringing out or putting into play the more intelligent aspects of yourself.
