The scene suggests a situation in which you might be inclined to use an emotional perspective that is of long standing and working in your favour. (visiting an old friend) Yet the idea of “visiting” would suggest that this feeling is meant to be used for only a short while. You would not be expected to stay with this feeling. There appears to be some psychological/emotional support of a protective nature for this emotional perspective (she was with her father and mother) but this support does not really protect you (as the parents are not your parents).
The second hand shop refers to a mental attitude in which you are buying or accepting an idea which is not a new idea. Here the idea is represented by the sewing table. The sewing table can pertain quite literally to the subject area or idea of “sewing”. Thus the dream can be indicating that when it comes to the idea of sewing, you are not now buying a new idea. Anything new is understood to be in perfect condition and thus very desirable. Some aspect of yourself has seemingly “been there and done that”, making the idea of sewing now less desirable. The curved table top would indicate the subject area of sewing is not now seen as being “on the level” – not a legitimate subject area for you.
The $7 cost can imply a sacred value is attached to the idea of sewing as well as being seen as an idea that could test your mettle – when you accept the idea of sewing in a dismantled form. This would mean when the idea of sewing is seen as an idea that does not stand .
When the idea of sewing is accepted this way, the cost to yourself seems quite low, that is, there are no serious consequences to you. Yet there is an aspect of your mind reflecting poor thinking (the fellow) that would suggest the consequences should be seen as much greater. (I would have charged you a lot more)
You are relying on another aspect of your mind (your partner) to ensure that the idea of sewing will stand or appear quite valid. “I was sexual” would imply that you are open to being seduced by your mind. Feeling like 34 (as you are older than this in reality) would indicate that you are not as old and wise as you should be when it relates to sewing. It would also suggest that you are not seeing the age factor in your life realistically. Feeling light implies that your body of knowledge does not carry a great deal of weight; it has little significance.
{As you say this particular table would not work in real life as a table for sewing, perhaps the sacred value would more realistically apply to a subject area other than sewing, one that really would test your mettle more than sewing does for an expert sewer. I have seen from the dreams of others, that the Lord recommends that at a certain point in a woman’s life, it comes time for her to put aside pleasant creative pastimes and spend more time developing her mind. As your dream shows, it is later than you think.}
