O.k, where to start..........well for about 10 years now I have been having a reccuring cycle of about 5 nightmares. They are all violent, I wake drenched in sweat, screaming, grinding my teeth, crying, moaning etc etc. Most of these nightmare happen in a particular house that I have never seen in my awake life (i say that because i feel like im living a whole nother life when im asleep) The top floor(s) of this massive, old house are absolutley crawling with angry ghosts that only I can see....they are trying to get me to join them and I quite often drown in a swimming pool, face down, wearing my mothers wedding dress. Other times im in a long dark hallway, there are several doors and i can see out side at the end of the hallway. Right at the end is myself hanging...choking..about to die. Voices are coming out of all the open doors on the way down and they are all ages....saying weird things like ""I know this isnt real, I know this isnt real"" over and over again while others yell, "'go grab a rope and then we will see if your dreaming'" while i repeat over and over "'i cant come back here again, i cant come back here again........'"
thats just the tip of the ice berg really. I remember smells, sounds i can even remeber my emotions and how the air around me feels. They vary slightly.......some im a sacrifice to the devil, others i get thrown around a room by some thing i cant see (and wake up bruised). One involves a big shower block with a dripping tap and I can smell iron and water and its cold but i cant move and im utterly terrified (this one is always black and whte)i think im a small child in that one..............if anyone can help me, i have an absolute shite load more to say! Please also read the post Nightmares........why, there is a futher explanation involving dead people. Well, enough said..........am i crazy or what?????

I used to have a recurrent nightmare when I was a child. I would be walking in a castle and walk onto a trapdoor and fall into a damp, cold room... I had this dream several times, then I got smart.... I knew the trapdoor was there and would walk in another direction and the outcome of the dream would change........
Is there a way you could change your dream? Say, why instead of seeing yourself hanging you don't see a bunch of flowers hanging to dry? Or instead of drowning in the pool, why don't you lift off as if you were a plane and vanish into thin air? Have you ever tried jumping up and down in your dream when something bothers you? Dig your heels into your bed, while you do it, to have a greater upwards lift... That usually makes you wake up..... Is there a way you could consciously change the outcome of your dream? Your mind can do it, it's up to you to find a way of it - be inventive and don't let yourself be caught up in "what to expect" situations. They can be changed even at the last second!
