2 nights ago, I dreamed my hubby and I had to kill black dogs in our home... We used knifes it was very graphic!!!

This afternoon, I went for a nap and I was woken up cause I was sufficating for air... Those dogs were in my house again and they were a mix of a great dain and an other big race, they were black...
One of them came on my couch and my hubby was petting him so I started to pet his head and his face became more human and his front paws became hands and he struggled me!!! I couldn't believe it and I woke up gasping for air!!!!

Everywhere on the internet and my books, I cannot find anything relevant!!! I was wondering if someone could help me out here and if there is a particular meaning in recurrent dreams of this kind that would be interesting.

The dogs would represent an emotional aspect of yourself from which come feelings pertaining to friendship and loyalty. The large dogs, such as the Great Dane can suggest having a very self defensive or self protective feeling probably regarding a friendship or loyalty issue – perhaps feeling a need to defend or justify a friendship.  As the dogs are black the feelings of friendship and loyalty appear to be unenlightened in nature.

All males in a dream represent aspects of your own mind. As the husband is petting the dog, it would imply that your mind and its way of thinking is showing favour for a negative, unenlightened feeling regarding friendship and loyalty, one that has you feeling very defensive.  You then begin to show more favour for this emotional perspective, especially for the logic that pertains to it. (so I started to pet his head) Now what was previously an irrational feeling (just an animal) begins to appear much more rational (dog became more human).

While your feelings of friendship and loyalty have begun to appear more rational than previously, this feeling is having a hand in strangling you. (front paws became hands and he strangled me) This means that when using this feeling it is having the effect of cutting you off from higher consciousness or higher intelligence (the air). Your feelings regarding friendship and loyalty are having an effect upon your waking life.  (woke up gasping for air)

On a physical level of interpretation the dogs can represent someone or a few people (or perhaps an organization) who comes across as a friend who could seem very protective of you. Yet their actions are not working for your well being. They are preventing your access to a greater intelligence – which could also be understood to be God’s intelligence.

The first dream of having to kill black dogs in your house with a knife would suggest a need to terminate unenlightened feelings of friendship through the use of masculine logic. This would imply a reasoning process which is not overly influenced by emotions.

The dog dream is regular and seems to be progressing with each dream. Firstly you and your husband violently kill the dogs and second time there is more recognition of "human" characteristics of these dogs.

Your emotional response seems similar both times. Your physical response of gasping for air was different from the first time where there was possibly adrenalin.
