I once dreamt of my purse being stolen from me.  A dream of robbery where you are the victim can mean something different from just witnessing a robbery:

1.  If you are the robber - and you steal what is not yours it interprets very literally into envy.  Could you be using emotional blackmail on someone?  Could you be literally undercutting their ambitions to serve your own purpose?  Do you not recognize this person you steal from or is it an institution/store/place of work?  Why do you feel guilty or do you feel wronged as if to justify?

2.  If you are the victim of robbery - wow - these dreams leave an etch in your memory sometimes... they warn for you to protect yourself from the dangers you may be leaving yourself open to.  I once dreamt my purse was stolen (as I said above) I was sitting on a bench doing my crossword and a girl walked over from a group of girls with an empty purse just like mine and handed it to me while putting her hand on mine as if to swap.  Her eyes were menacing as if to say - Comply!

I awoke with start!  This was the purse I had been using every day.  The dream was so vivid.  A couple weeks later my car window was smashed and that exact purse was stolen out of my car.... (yes, I realize how dumb that is of me...)

I have also dreamt that my apartment was broken into at my bedroom window,  in the dream I sat vigilently by my (broken) window to protect my home from the robber coming back...

This meant something else, of course, it meant I am aware of my vulnerabilities and I am beginning to protect myself.  As my mom was upstairs (which she does not live in my apartment) and my dad was not home he was away (who normally does live home and would be the one to help me fix my window - as he did with my car <333 I love him!) - it showed me taking on a more independent role as I went back down to my apartment which was closer to ground level in the dream (emotions and subconscious - home:self) - this means I am growing into an independent and less vulnerable person.
