I personally liked Tom Chetwynd's Dictionary for Dreamers. It's based on Jungian theories. I try to keep in mind though that a dog for instance can mean different symbols to different people. Everyone has their own "language" we develop from early on. We don't think in words. We think in symbols. When our brain hears a word, we imagine what that word looks like. A dog can be threatening to some and a best friend to others. With a little research and practice you'll figure out your own language in no time. Best of luck. I'm sure you'll get some fascinating messages right away.
