If you dream that you  Abandon others, this might suggest that you have bad condition surrounding you and it can be difficult to avoid them.

If you dream that you Abandon your loved ones, this might indicate loss of friends or value, on the other hand if you Abandon your mistress this might indicate a positive occurrence like unexpected inheritance, new friends and so on.

If you or someone near abandon a ship it might indicate some failure in business, but if you reach the shore this might be avoided.

On the other hand if you abandon your business, this can indicate that you have circumstances that can lead to quarrels and mistrust.

If you see yourself Abandon your children this might indicate that you will lose your fortune due to lack of calmness and judgemnent.

Abandonment of religion can tell that you will come to grief because of  your attacks on more prominent people.

Abandon your house can indicate that you willl come to grief if you are experimenting with fortunes/savings.

To me, ABANDON means the following:

To give up,  (self abandonment)

This is normally a dream someone would have who is deeply depressed or disillusioned.  Perhaps walking through a dessert and not seeing the end of it, then just sitting down and waiting for the inevitable...

to spontaneously let go off a thing, (to abandon a posession)

This would mean to me to "dump" issues which you have carried along with you in your life.  You may have a dream where you are carrying baggage, and just put it down and walk away...

to leave a relationship without intending to return.  (to abandon a person)

Perhaps in your dream you are walking with someone else, and then you just take a turn into another direction...leaving this person behind.  Or you are driving a car, stop the car and tell the person to get out...then you drive off.

To yield completely to an impulse and/or emotion.  (to abandon self control)

In this example, it could be that you are dreaming that there is a discussion about something, you are feeling upset and then you just "lose" it...  No more "mr. nice guy", you just throw off the mask and let your feelings loose on those around you.  

Or you may be standing at a very sad scene, trying not to cry....and suddenly tears flood your face and you just give over to them, abandoning all self control.

Abandoning a ship

A vehicle of any kind denotes to me you as a person travelling on a path....  If you are driving or steering this vehicle you are in charge of your descisions on this path, if you are a passenger, you are following the lead of someone else in this path....  

Since ships travel on water, to me a ship or a boat, is your path as related to your emotions, because for me water is always indicitave of your emotional state.

If you abandon ship...it would mean that you probably felt the emotional side of your path was overwhelming you and you if you "jumped ship" it would probably be because someone else was steering you on a very emotional path in a direction you didn't want to go.  A lifeboat here would be you taking charge of your path again and getting your emotions under control.

If you abandoned ship and just jumped overboard, it would mean to me that your emotions got the better of you and you are in danger of being drowned by them.
