A crystal is a regularly-repeating atomic structure that is formed from building-block-like units of matter. It is also a tool one may use for healing the mind, body, and spirit.

Crystals form inside of the earth through heat and pressure which cause its atoms and molecules to follow a blueprint (crystalline encoding). These molecules take on the most stable form possible by repeating until the crystal is fully formed.

Yes, crystals are formed according to the their most favorable conditions (the right amount of heat and pressure in the "stomach" of our mother earth), with the most stable bondings like following a certain blueprint.
The best example is a Diamond crystal. A Diamond crystal has to be formed approximately 150 km below the earth, and brought up quick enough to the surface to remain what it is. Or else it would turn into amorphous graphite.
