Dear All,
I know extremely little about crystal healing, hence why I'm asking for more information.
About six weeks ago my father suffered from brain damage due to a lack of oxygen. In my attempt to find some alternative therapies that could be of use I read on the internet that Elestial has been known to repair brain damaged cells.
When I went to purchase the crystal, the attended wouldn't let me buy it because being a beginner I could do more harm than good.
If anyone can tell me if it's worth bringing in a professional, that would be great.
Thanks,

Hi Eloise, welcome to Mystic Board
So sorry to hear about your father's illness, I wish him a speedy recovery.
I really don't like it when a 'shop assistant' tells us what we can and can't do. It would have been much more helpful for them to have explained to you what you needed to know instead of causing you this extra pain and worry.
Elestials are a natural formation, they look almost like the crystal has ben bent over and squashed, which in many cases its has by the intense pressure of the Earth's crust and platelets moving. Because of this look, which can be similar to a brain, many people feel that some elestials can help repair brain damage. They have a much higher vibration that normal quartzes and also have a much more glassy and smooth feel.
You could try some very simple and easy crystals to start with like Turquoise which is a very powerful master healer and also rose quartz, these can benefit the whole body and so aid with any healing process. Personally I wouldn't worry to much about getting your hands on an elestial, you can do much more with other stones, malachite and charoite would also help. You don't say if your father is in hospital or somewhere that he will be allowed to hold and touch the crystals? Just having them near will help as will trying some simple meditation and deep breathing exercises. Placing them safely inside his pillow will help too.
Have a think and trust your instincts, then come back with any further questions
