Help identifying a cluster please

Hi there, I was given this cluster (hope the picture shows) by a friend and I have no idea what it is. Can anyone assist please.

I have some very similar pieces, that are part of broken Amethyst geodes, the piece you have is almost certainly quartz, just check that the points have 6 sides and not 4 which might indicate apophyllite considering where you are

The strange thing is it has NO points at all on any of the crystals. That is what makes me think it could be Aragonite. It has a blue tinge to all the crystals.

The base looks like typical basalt, so I stick with quartz,  sadly a lot of the broken pieces have the tips knocked off as they are collected.  I have never seen aragonite in this form, have you tested a small piece to check its hardness?
