I thought I would start a thread that would get us all thinking about "Where Crystals Come From?"

When you buy your crystal or tumblestone do you ever ask what the Country of Origin is?

Do you ask if it was mined sympathetically?

Or whether the miners were properly treated and had safety equipment and proper washing facilities?

Or were they paid a pittance and not given medical care?.....

No I bet most of us don't ask and don't want to think about those aspects?!

The funny thing is most 'crystal healers' are supposed to be sympathetic and in touch with the world and yet so many purchase 'enhanced crystals' and crystals that were literally ripped and blown from the Earth with dynamite and which leave a huge hole in the surrounding landscape.....

Perhaps if the stones were buried so deep we are not meant to have them yet? Think of the Lemurian Seed Crystals that were found just laying in sand and dug out with the miners bare hands and then the sand covered back. Obviously one could argue that those were the next stones for man to learn with?

Many people seem to be very materially minded and have vast collection of crystals and minerals sitting around gathering dust just so they can say they have a piece; what a shame rather than putting the crystals to good use, caring for them properly and letting their energies spread to others.

All I ask is that we all think a bit more about the Whys, and Wheres, and Hows? Because, not only do they affect the crystals internal harmonics but they affect the whole world too.......

Next time before you buy a crystal ask and see what answers you get

As I am not sure if this is a rhetorical thread, I'll just take the punt that posts are invited.  

I met a gorgeous huge and oh so heavy piece of green calcite today and became instantaneously maternal.  Well shall I say maternal on steroids!  As a mother of 6, I guess the concept isn't totally forgien.  LOL.  Anyhoo, I picked up the calcite and felt the intense need to swaddle it and stroke it.  Crazy, I know.  After the visit, I suddenly thought, this calcite is playing the sympathy card with me and wondered why.  I suspect it has been altered in some way to increase it's allure to the purchaser.  I decided to ask my guides about it and they said that it was indeed interferred with by acid. Acid? I hadn't ever heard of this treatment before, but then like you said Gem, they often blast the poor beloved beings out of the ground, so why not acid?  *cry*  So I did a little research and found out that acid is , sadly, commonly used to treat green calcite.  I really wish they wouldn't do that.

You were spot on and sadly calcite is often treated with acid :(   Its not that hard to spot or feel and in my mind it doesnt make the crystal any better or prettier but so many use it to make the calcite look like sweets, glassy and smooth  and more vivid.

No, I didn't buy it, but I do feel like I aught to have as to help nurse it back or somewhat back...if that's doable?  I am extra sensitive these days to what I perceive to be the ?feelings of crystal or past hurts.  For some reason I seem to be taking it on.  So I have had to spend a fair bit of time clearing and recharging myself and my crystals.  I don't quite get what that's about.  Do you have any thoughts?  For instance, my mom has bought back several crystals from South Africa for me and her and they nearly make me want to cry.   They are so battered and neglected (points all broken off completely).   Many of them are so very injured.  My mother generally doesn't seem interested in the metaphysical aspects and just buys for either aestetics or because they are cheap.   The ones she gives me are especially tortured nearly unrecognizable, in fact.   I asked her if she cleansed and dedicated them and she just looked at me cross eyed.  I feel I should do something, but I'm not sure what will be of greatest use.

YES you can help these crystals and bring them back to full health!  Sometimes a crystal needs to heal itself before it can help others. There are many ways of doing this, one is intention and also removing it from harm, the cause of its distress, sometimes this is the envirnoment, being in bright light, fixed and unable to move or in a magnetic fioeld.
Damaged crystals can be helped by washing gently in cold running water and then being held till dry, your energy will give them the extra they need. Make sure you tap into universal energy and don't use your own to do this or you will feel worse and the crystal better lol, I put this in my blog and we can discuss other ways of helping if you like
