I've always been partial to black and white but I hadn't read that they could be associated with Cancer. I always have read silver for the moon.

And ironically I prefer silver over gold jewelry because I feel it goes better with my skin and hair tones.

I really don't understand though how a color (and gemstone) goes with our sign ... my favorite color is red and (my favorite gem is the red ruby). lol

Anybody know how the color is supposed to be most effectively used or applied?

I am again going to be true to what is said here.
Like Dlm, I have always preffered silver over gold. Even before I knew Silver was the Metal and color of Cancers cause of our connection to the Moon. The whole Triple Godddess thing. As well as the stone ruby. One of the first things I remember around 8 I think. I was on vacation with my family. My step-father asked what it was I wanted. I saw a fake sliver/ruby ring. It was like 5 bucks. LOL It was the only thing I wanted the whole time we were there. Untill I found the section with the real stones for sale.

The red ruby is a stone of protection, wealth, power, joy and anti-nightmare. It is mostly for protection from bad karma or bad psychic attackes and such.
