Hey everyone,

I'm currently reading Rachel Pallack's "Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom: A Book of Tarot." I came upon it by accident but to my surprise I see the book is very insightful. I admire how Ms. Pallack has beautifully explained many insightful interpretations and provides a little history on the symbolism of the cards.

I think this is an absolute genius read. I love it and highly recommend it.

Does anyone know if she has other material I should read? Or recommend any other authors?

Thank you.

Hi, MadCookie,

Rachel Pollack is also my favorite author in Tarot. I have the 78 degrees in two books: one for the Major Arcana and one for Minor and spreads. Then she has at least another book called Tarot: the Open Labyrinth, in which she comments several of her real readings, so you see how it's done.

I have just begun reading a novel called Slinky Jane, which I had ying around for a long time. Can't tell if it's any good, but the last novel I read by this same author I only found so-so. Her name is Catherine Cookson -I believe she is quite well known- and the novel I didn't much like is 'The Garment'. Does anybody know it?

Just last night I picked up a book that I found profound, despite the obvious author and his specialty genre.

Stephen King's IT, a book of horror, with children having to face THE unspeakable evil and besting it, can teach us all something of ourselves.  Stephen King himself, in the opening pages of this book speaks insurmountable truth, a truth that I learned from this book myself.

"Kids, fiction is the truth inside the lie, and the truth of this fiction is simple enough: the magic exists." - Stephen King

If you have not read this book because of the horror, I can understand your hesitation.  If you have not read this book for any other reason, please give this book an honest chance.  The story is good, but the point of it is far-reaching.
Which Book are u reading at the Moment???
