The Seekers Question
The reason the seeker is using the tarot is more than likely that they
have a question seeking an answer. They are probably facing a challenge
or problem, being troubled or lost; therefore are relying on the tarot
for aid in their situation.
It is important for the seeker to thoroughly think the question through.
What is it that they really want to ask? What is the situation and who
is involved. It’s important that the question is looked at with an open
mind and not judged in any way.
It is important for the seeker to accept responsibility in his/her
question. The cards can not tell the seeker what to do as the final
decision lies within their own hands. The cards are only for aid and
guidance to a problem.
As a tarot reading can’t tell us what to do; it’s important to look at
the words we use when phrasing the question. Do not ask questions that
resolve in yes/no answers; or those that begin with the words should or
will. Questions that involve “time” will gain weird answers as time is
all a matter of perception and doesn’t exist on the external planes of
human nature.
Questions that are good to ask are ones that ask for insight, guidance
in understanding and guidance in how you could possibly improve your
situation.
Sometimes the questions I’ve been asked to read on are obvious that the
reader thinks that he is in the right and that others just are not
listening to them, for example “why are people not listening to me”;
this is not open minded question; a better way of phrasing such as this
would be “why does it seem that people aren’t listening and what is
happening when this occurs”; this is a more open approach to the
question.
Questions should not portray defeat from the seeker but should be asked
with a positive confidence.
