Major and Minor Arcana
The standard deck of tarot cards contains 78 cards in two decks; these
decks are split into two different sections known as arcana (profound
secrets). There are 22 major arcanas and 56 minor arcanas. The major
arcanas are in four suits; wands, swords, cups and pentacles. It's hard
to put a meaning to these cards as the meanings have not been set /
passed down / taught; however, we can generalize in saying that wands
(air) represent ideas and thoughts.
Swords (fire) represent motivation, power and free will. Cups (water)
represent feelings and emotions; then the pentacle (earth stands for our
physical side and expressions
