Introduction To IChing
IChing is a mixture of both philosophy and fortune telling. IChing is an
ancient Chinese method of predicting the future; it came about from
Oriental Shamans about seven thousand years ago.
It started off with these shamans using sacrificed animal bones in order
to tell the future, where a crack on the bone that was unbroken
symbolized (yang) yes and a broken line symbolized (yin) no.
The method of IChing provides information, warning, advice, caution,
wisdom and virtue. It is pronounced as “Yee Ching // Yee Ging” depending
on which version of Chinese is being spoken. The word ching means
scroll; this is where important and wise words are noted down. Ye (I)
are methods the deal with disasters and misfortune. Simply noted IChing
is the book of changes.
