Characteristics

Horoscopes have been made for the animals but these are not regarded seriously by Chinese folk. The animal signs have a useful function of finding out people’s ages without having to directly ask them for their age. Although Chinese do not take the meanings of the animals seriously there are meanings for each animal, these are as follows.

The Rat is highly imaginative, charming and very generous. They are quick tempered and overly critical.

The Ox is full of strength and a born leader, they are methodical and good with their hands, a job that uses steady hands or law would be ideal for buffalos.

Rabbits are kind, affectionate but often over cautious and superficial.

Dragons are witty, enthusiastic, popular, intelligent and gifted yet are also perfectionists.

Snakes are wise, romantic, deep thinkers and heavily guided by their intuition.

Horses are very capable of hard work, independent and intelligent. They can be very selfish.

Dogs will never let you down, they are honest, and faithful, they put others first but often worry too much.

Pigs are very tolerant, they can be naïve, they often set very hard tasks and goals for themselves and will do anything to make sure that these goals and tasks get complete.
