"I got permission directly from God himself for this. He told me whatever I could fit into one suitcase, I could bring with me."

St. Peter, shrugged his shoulders and simply said, "Fine with me. But we've already got plenty of pavement here."

Our earthly possessions are useful for us on earth only.
What is very precious on earth is lying on pavements in heaven.
Our good deed are all that get carried with us.
So be good, do good.

The joke carries a very deep meaning. Body remains on Earth to perish and only the Soul goes up. All other things excepting Soul remain on Earth.

I also enjoyed how the Streets of Heaven are paved in gold. More gold arrived, but the streets were already paved. It was like brining asphalt to a city. The person thinks it is great wealth, but the city just sees it as something to pave the streets with.
The person worked hard to bring his wealth with him, just to see that it was used for paving.
What is true wealth. What a person can carry.
