What does your son like, is he into cars, motorbikes, music or does he just like to read, I'm sure we could help him with something.

Video Games. There is a video game for everyone. It may not be productive, but it eases the boredom.

EDIT: Wait...

You're sure? so, he hasn't told you he's bored? That's probably because he's been busy playing video games!

I have two sons with very diverse likes. One likes to read and play video games (he is 15 and into girls as well) and the other (age 11) likes eletronics stuff. Makes his own electronic things and reads anything technical.

You are his mother so you know what he is into.....start with that and broaden his horizons. Maybe he would like to try a musical instrument........or maybe he would like to make his own computer game (there are many software products that help with this).

It's hard when they say they are bored and we don't have an answer for them. I get this all the time. It's not like when I was young and our imagination is all we had. Kids today need a little shove to find theirs. Good luck!

Hi Serenity. I've been browsing through and found your question. I thought I would give you my hobbies in the hope your son may have some enjoyment with these. Is he creative? If he is then something Artistic like Painting-Oils, Acrylic or water colours. I have a wonderful course at the moment on video with Ken Harris. Ken is Australian and teaches Australian Landscape (which could be transformed into different country scenes), Ocean scenes and flowers, If you or your son is interested I can send you the information for Ken. Ken also says you can be an experienced painter and selling your work in 3 months! I've painted 3 so far in the last 2 weeks and have just received a glowing report. I need a camera to show Ken. LOL
One of the best things I've started with were gel pens and paper, sat on my couch and drew a circle, if the circle doesn't look round this is OK or you can perfect it by making it larger. Create designs, shapes etc from this circle and create Mandalas. Most of mine as small as they are took 8 hours or more, not just drawing but feeling where to go next. An A4 Art book is great for this project
(I'm going to try and upload some for you to look at. LOL I'm new at this. Hope it works.)

Pottery is also a great hobby. Look for courses.

Preston Reuther has a wire sculpting course making jewelery and other things with wire and gems. He has a small business package which would be a great start. This hobby includes tools.
These can make extra money and be lots of fun.
Find him on the internet. He has example videos on there.

Graham English
Absolute Pitch Power Ear Training has a web site with free lessons in ear training for music, worth a look. Worth a try. Maybe the gateway to making music or understanding it when he goes out.

I hope these ideas help. At least have a look first and read what these people have to say. There are plenty of courses and lessons on the internet for online or offline some are free some are not.
I'm a libran so maybe this will help, if not you may find some interest in these, maybe the 2 of you can find a hobby to do together and have a small part time business who knows what the future holds.
Best wishes to you both.

Ps I have just realized if your son says they are all girly things to do. Let him know I have only listed men offering these hobbies so they can be very masculine or maybe he can make Mum and his male and female friends some jewellery. The point to all of these is HAVE FUN,ENJOY AND USE YOUR IMAGINATION!!!! you'll be surprised at what you might find deep down inside yourself or with your higher self. I thought my oil painting wasn't fun because I was tired and low self esteem. Boy was I wrong. After 3 I can't wait to do more. It's your personal traits that make you who you are, not copying dot by dot someone else's.
May the light shine brightly upon you!!!!!
