Abscission of Light
(Latin "abscission" - to cut off)
The effect of a particular aspect is cut short by the intervention of another. This term is used in horary astrology. It occurs when before the aspect between two significators can reach its zenith, one of the planets is a slower planet, or faster planet aspects one of the significators.
When this happens, the light of the nearing significator is cut off by the rays of the new planet. This may result in frustration. In other words, the new planet may cut off whatever event is about to happen.
