This is one of the Nakshatras or constellations considered in Vedic astrology. It occupies 270 deg 40' to 280deg 54' 13" of the zodiac. It is useful in Muhurtha (auspicious time) determination. This is also a name for Vishnu and Brahma presides over it.  Three stars occupy it.

Men born under this nakshatra are well proportioned with a magnetic personality. They may be highly learned and powerful. Health may not be very good in childhood.

Women born under this nakshatra are mature, optimistic and ambitious. They may suffer from ill health.
